Kilibound Adventures offers three different Kilimanjaro climbing package levels of luxury service on Kilimanjaro – Basic, Easy Traveler, and Premium. In addition, we offer package upgrades listed below. The following packages are described below for the Lemosho route. Keep in mind, KiliBound’s staff is happy to take you up any official route of your choosing.
The cost to climb Kilimanjaro is based off a minimum of (4) climbers. Quotes are available for private parties of (2). If you book as a group of (8) or more, your climb is automatically private, and climbers from other groups will not be added to your climb. If you would like a private tour for your group only and have less than (8) climbers, please ask for a price quote.
The basic Kilimanjaro climbing package includes 2 nights stay in a deluxe hotel in Arusha, transportation from the airport to the hotel, transportation to and from the trailhead, all meals on the mountain, all park fees, camping fees, and rescue fee, your basic camping equipment (tents & sleeping mats), access to our private toilet and showers on the mountain, salaries for your porters, guides, and cooks. The BASIC package does not include a personal porter to carry your daypack, tips or gratuities for mountain staff, or any gear rentals.
Lemosho Basic: $4000
Easy Traveler Package
Includes everything the BASIC Kilimanjaro climbing package includes, plus rental gear so that you don’t have to purchase it or take up room in your bags! Sleeping bag rated to 0 degrees Fahrenheit, trekking poles to assist you on steep up and down sections of the trail, gaiters to keep your pants clean, and a double foam mattress or cot for extra comfort. The EASY TRAVELER package does not include a personal porter to carry your daypack or tips/gratuities for mountain staff.
Lemosho Easy Traveler: $4100
The premium Kilimanjaro climbing package includes everything offered in the BASIC or EASY TRAVELER, plus all of your tips for your guides, porters, cooks (other than your personal porter if you choose to upgrade to a personal porter) so that you don’t have to carry the extra cash with you.
Lemosho Premium: $4350
Add any of the following upgrades to your package to enhance your mountain experience or make your traveling more convenient.
KiliBound’s porters carry all of your gear, tents, set up and take down camp, and carry and provide all meals while on the mountain. The only item you carry is a small day pack with your water, snacks, rain layer, and camera or anything else you need access to while on the trail. While you may be able to carry a daypack around Disney world all day, carrying this daypack day after day, up and down steep sections of trail, for 9 days in a row with 2-3 liters of water is a different matter! Decrease your level of excursion (thus maximizing your body’s ability to acclimatize) by hiring a personal porter to carry your day pack and assist you as needed with climbing. $400.00
Your mountain rescue fee is included in your climb costs. Rescues for AMS are very rarely needed if your guides are properly trained – thus, we do not include any extra rescue coverage in our packages because it so rarely needed and we are confident in our guide’s ability to intervene before a rescue becomes necessary. That being said, there are accidents that can happen that are non-altitude related such as breaking a bone or experiencing complications related to pre-existing medical conditions. The rescue team’s efficient procedures to address AMS are not always the most comfortable way to receive medical care if you are experiencing other issues. If you are concerned about needing a rescue on the mountain, Flying Doctors ensure a prompt aircraft evacuation off the mountain to a medical facility of your choice in Nairobi. Flying Doctors is run through AMREF, a non-profit medical organization that provides free health information and projects to communities in and around Africa. The safety plus upgrade includes your Flying Doctor coverage, ground transportation to a local medical facility if a rescue is initiated, one extra night’s hotel stay in case you have to make an early descent (if unused extra night is not transferable). $500.00
If you are booking alone you will be provided with a private hotel room, private tent and charged a single supplement. $500.00
Rent all the gear offered by choosing our EASY TRAVELER package. If you only need a piece or two of gear, you may rent them at the following cost. Sleeping bags $35, trekking poles $20, cot/double foam mattress $30, gaiters $15, Duffels $25.
