Nyerere National Park (Selous Game) Reserve Safari Itinerary
Day 1: DAR ES SALAAM– SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Around 7:30 in the morning after having your breakfast, a professional English Speaking Driver Guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Selous Game Reserve with picnic lunch to be served on the way. We arrive at the camp early in the afternoon for check in thereafter we head for a boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River. The river is formed by the confluence of the Kilombero and Luwegu rivers. It is approximately 600 kilometers (370mi) long and here you will see plentiful hippos and crocodiles. The big herds of Tanzanian Elephants are also attracted by the River Rufiji that flows through the reserve. Some 350 bird species can also be found in the Selous Game Reserve.

Day 2 : SELOUS GAME RESERVE
Early in the morning before breakfast around 6:00 am you will go for sun-rise game drives for about 1-2 hours then back to your Lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will have short time to relax then drive back to the bush for afternoon game drive at the Game Reserve. The Reserve is the largest in Africa, covering 54,600 square kilometers. The reserve gets its name from the hunter and explorer Frederick Courtney Selous. He was killed here during World War 1. Selous is famous for elephants. Other species commonly seen are lions, wild dogs, buffaloes, bush buck, impalas, elands, baboons, zebras and greater kudus. It was originally set aside as a hunting area where animals are abundant but more shy than the Northern Parks.

Day 3: DEPARTURE DAY
After breakfast, we drive back to Dar es Salaam with picnic lunch on the way.
